Personal data we collect
When you subscribe to The Trouble Letter, the form may collect your email address, your name if you choose to provide it, your consent, the signup source, the signup date and the page URL where the signup happened.
The website and its hosting systems may also process limited technical information needed to deliver pages, protect the site and maintain its operation. MagicTrouble does not use the current site to build advertising profiles or sell personal data.

Newsletter flow and service providers
The current signup flow is MagicTrouble website to Make to Airtable to MailerLite.
- Make transfers the submitted signup data through the automated workflow.
- Airtable stores and organises the signup record used by the workflow.
- MailerLite manages the mailing list, sends the confirmation request and delivers The Trouble Letter.
These providers process data to support the service. They may use their own authorised subprocessors. Depending on where a provider or subprocessor operates, data may be processed outside your country. Where required, transfers are handled using appropriate safeguards under applicable data protection law.
Double opt-in
Submitting the form does not immediately add you to the active newsletter list. MailerLite sends a confirmation email. The subscription becomes active only after you confirm it.
How long data is kept
Subscriber data is kept while the subscription is active. It is removed or restricted when it is no longer needed, when you withdraw consent or request deletion, subject to any limited record that must be retained to demonstrate consent, honour an unsubscribe request, resolve a dispute or meet a legal obligation.
Unconfirmed signup data is retained only for a reasonable period needed to complete or troubleshoot the double opt-in process and is then removed when no longer required.
Your rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to be informed, access your personal data, correct it, request deletion, restrict or object to processing, receive portable data and withdraw consent. You may also complain to the data protection authority responsible for your location.
